Feeding the Soul: Art Exhibition

June 2, 2022 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Join us at a reception for the opening of Feeding the Soul: An Art Exhibition by Artists from Friends Life Community at The Nashville Food Project!

Friends Life Community is a nonprofit providing opportunity for teenagers and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to grow personally, develop socially, and be active members of the community.

The pieces featured in this exhibit were created by artists with intellectual and developmental disabilities who participate in FLC’s Advocacy Through the Arts programming. Advocacy Through the Arts helps individuals to find their voice, tell their story, and connect with the community through a shared experience.

Artwork featured in this show draws a connection between individuality and how we are naturally influenced by the earth’s ability to nurture us with works featuring fruit, vegetables, and nature. Within the FLC Art Studio, each artist is encouraged to find their own unique style. All featured artwork, Friendmade goods, and FLC merchandise will be available for purchase at the opening reception on June 2nd!

Light hors d’oeuvres from the kitchens of The Nashville Food Project will be available for guests to enjoy while exploring the featured artwork of the Friends.

The Friends “Treat Truck” will also be onsite handing out nostalgic frozen treats. Treat truck goodies are free of charge, though donations and tips are accepted.
