Life SkillsThe Friends gain the confidence needed to pursue their dreams with the dignity they deserve. Families have peace of mind knowing that Friends Life Community is providing a safe place for the Friends to learn.
Individuals gain the confidence to become more independent at home, at work, and in the community through the Life Skills program at Friends Life Community. As the Friends grow in self-advocacy, social awareness, safety, and daily living skills, they decrease their dependency on caregivers and are able to take greater personal responsibility for their own lives.
The Friends learn new skills, practice healthy habits, and discover interests and talents through daily classes. They explore Nashville while practicing social skills and engaging with their peers in the community. They learn cooking skills while baking for others. They establish healthy routines by exercising each day. They practice safety skills with role playing and intentional examples in the community.
Friends Life Community also provides Life Coaching to help individuals with greater independence in their homes and in the community. This is a one-to-one coaching program that allows an individual to have a personal coach that will design a program around the individual’s specific goals.
