J. Robert Lindsey

Artistic Associate 

J. Robert Lindsey is a Kentucky native who has chosen NashvIlle as his home for the last five years. Prior to joining the Friends Life team, J. Robert taught for both public and charter schools in the greater Nashville area. In addition to being a classroom teacher, J. Robert served as a grade level chair, department head, curriculum writer, and, most recently, dean of students. Theatre education has always been very important to J. Robert. He has created theatre curriculum for fifth through eighth grades, founded the performing arts program at Valor Collegiate Academy (the Wildcat Players), and served as a teaching artist for The Theater Bug, an east NashvIlle children’s theatre. J. Robert also works as a professional actor. He has worked with several regional theatre companies, including: Chaffin’s Barn Dinner Theatre, Roxy Regional Theatre, Street Theatre Company, Gaslight Dinner Theatre, and The Bell Witch Fall Festival. Before making Nashville his home, he performed for Disney Cruise Line getting the chance to travel throughout the Caribbean, South America, and Alaska. J. Robert enjoys running, yoga, and being dog dad to his 11 year old Corgi mix, Payton.
