Visual Arts Program Coordinator
As FLC’s Visual Arts Program Coordinator, Jennifer leads classes in Art and Social Enterprise. She coordinates opportunities for Friends to be creative in crafting original designs while practicing job skills by using those designs to create FLC merchandise. She also works tirelessly behind-the-scenes to increase awareness of the Visual Arts Program. An avid gardener, she also leads Gardening classes at FLC.
Jennifer is originally from Washington State where she received a BFA in Printmaking and a BA in Interdisciplinary Arts. Her studies in art brought her to Tennessee where she received her MFA in printmaking from the University of Tennessee. Tennessee kept her with the beauty of the deciduous trees, lakes, and wandering creeks. She has several years of experience in teaching at local colleges, and universities. Jennifer joined Friends Life originally as a volunteer, and joined the staff in January 2019.
As a Visual Arts Program Coordinator Jennifer shares her love of making. Beyond her studies, Jennifer also has a background in a wide variety of arts and crafts. As a fiber artist, her art quilts have been shown nationally. She also works on quilt commissions, and sells her original art quilts. This side of Jennifer contributes to her work managing Social Enterprise at Friends Life. Her passion for art and crafting are brightened with the opportunity to be collaborating with all of Friends Life.
