Every quarter, our Friends have the option to come with us on an overnight trip — typically within a three-hour radius — led by a dedicated team of staff members and volunteers. These trips are carefully planned from the ground up, with detailed packing lists, itineraries, and safety and emergency plans in place well before departure, so caregivers can feel confident sending their Friend and Friends can feel confident finding their independence.
The impact goes both ways: caregivers get a full weekend of respite, while Friends get the chance to build independent living skills, try new experiences, and deepen friendships — all in a safe, supported environment.
"Watching the Friends get to practice independent living skills while spending time making memories with friends, new and old, is a priceless reminder for me of why overnights are so important." — Emme, Special Events Coordinator
FLC Overnights are funded in part by the Nashville Predators Foundation. The Dollywood Weekend was made possible through a generous private donation. We are grateful for the support of our community in making these overnights possible for our Friends and their family members. This generosity has created memories and laughter that will last a lifetime.
