Made with creative exploration and self-expression through a teaching residency with artist Courtney Gatewood. Artists were encouraged to experiment with new materials and techniques while developing both individual and collaborative works that reflect personal narratives and artistic growth.

Friends Life Collaboration

FLC collaborative paintings bring artists together to contribute their own, unique marks on canvas to create a piece that represents the collective whole. Taking turns, each artist watches the painting unfold and decides how they can make the unified piece unique. They respect one another’s marks, allowing space for each artist to shine.  

 As the artists connect through a shared experience, they provide a visual representation of community and teamwork.  FLC action paintings represent the importance of inclusion, support, celebration, and community.
