A Night to Remember

2025 Backyard BBQ & Bluegrass Bash

We are tipping our hats to YOU! Thanks to your incredible support, this year’s Backyard BBQ & Bluegrass Bash was our biggest event yet—with an electrifying crowd, a fashion show full of personality and surprises, and unforgettable music from the FLC Band.

Most importantly, together we raised over $370,000—shattering our $300,000 goal! This incredible generosity means FLC can fully subsidize tuition for 25% of our Friends for the year, ensuring families continue to access life-changing programs at a cost that remains affordable. 

With Edley’s Bar-B-Q serving up a feast fit for a Nashville crowd, guests savored every bite while tapping their toes to the live sounds of The Green Hillsbillies, joined by special guest The Band. The energy was infectious — laughter, dancing, and heartfelt conversations filled the night air.

One of the evening’s highlights was the Western Chic Fashion Show, curated by the ever-stylish Caroline Walker, an FLC Friend and true fashion inspiration. Models took the runway with confidence and joy, embodying the spirit of FLC — empowerment, creativity, and authenticity.

Although tickets sold out early, the giving didn’t stop there. Our silent and live auctions — along with the opportunity to purchase artwork created by Friends — invited everyone, both in-person and online, to participate. From unique experiences to local treasures to one-of-a-kind pieces crafted by our talented artists, every bid and purchase helped raise essential funds.

We’re deeply grateful to our sponsors, volunteers, and guests who made the night such a success. Your generosity fuels our mission and keeps the spirit of belonging alive every day at Friends Life Community.

A special thank you goes to our wonderful hostesses, Cindy and Ella Shafer, whose belief in the power of a village welcomed more than 360 advocates for change and acceptance to celebrate, dance, and give generously.
