Ecology of Community Art Show

The Friends’ show, Ecology of Community, will be on display at Belmont University’s Leu Foyer Gallery from March 13th – April 10th.

Ecology of Community is a visual expression of the relationships between the artists at Friends Life Community (FLC) and the way in which they experience the world around them. Experiencing their artwork is like walking through a diverse ecosystem within nature: a vibrant field of colorful wildflowers, the playfulness of dancing butterflies and busy bees, the confidence of saplings growing tall, and the wisdom of the root system that stretches deep underground, connecting every being to a common community. It is within community that we broaden the possibilities, break through barriers, and rise above stigmas. Our art is an embodiment of us and a way to gain an understanding of ourselves and each other. 

In the FLC art studio, Friends practice self-expression by telling their own unique stories. Through connecting with others through gallery exhibitions they find their voice as visual artists. Friends create unique individual artworks and collaborate with other artists, explore a wide range of mediums, and hone art-making skills, building self-confidence.
